What You Will Do
Spearmint Energy is seeking Electrical Power Engineering majors for consideration to join our company at our Miami, FL headquarters.   The candidate will have completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in electrical power.  Ideal candidate will have some experience in high voltage (>69kV) from internships or previous employment.    

This position will report to the SVP of Technology and will support various technical tasks related to supporting all phases of the interconnection process, develop internal modeling tools for supporting interconnection siting and oversee consultants’ deliverables and verifying accuracy and completeness.

Core Responsibilities
  • Support Greenfield efforts by developing equipment layouts, verifying system sizing and ensuring all technical documentation is ready for submittal.    
  • Develop conceptual system layouts and basic single-line diagrams.
  • Review technical submittals from potential equipment suppliers for accuracy and completeness.
  • Support M&A opportunities by ensuring Spearmint Energy’s technical standards are evaluated and
  • Lead technical responses to IE and financing Q&A.
  • Perform site due diligence visits for Greenfield and/or M&A opportunities.  
  • Maintain the Technology Team’s development support technical repository.
  • Support the Director – Procurement with review of technical submittals for Owner Supplied equipment. 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies in health, safety, security, equity, ethics, and governance.


Who You Are
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering B.S. or M.S.   
  • Basic knowledge of electrical power and familiarity with basic components of the electrical power system.
  • Ability to read and interpret basic electrical drawings.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, including civil and electrical. 
  • Collaborative working style.
  • Ability to communicate technical and commercial information clearly and effectively to various stakeholders.
  • Cooperative attitude with the ability to work with minimal daily direction.
