Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious EPC Manager to lead project management, controls, and reporting for project-specific engineering, procurement and construction activities at Spearmint Energy. The EPC Manager will report to the Senior Vice President of Project Execution. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to do tangible work putting “steel in the ground” at a fast-growing and ESG-motivated company.

Responsibilities:

Summary

Lead all project management, planning, controls, and reporting activities for Spearmint Energy.

Improve and manage internal project management systems.

Management and oversight of engineering, contractor, and construction management partners.

Lead all safety initiatives for development and construction phases of all projects.

Project Planning and Engineering

Assess site-specific construction risk during development phase.

Prepare comprehensive project execution plans in collaboration with development.

Lead or represent Spearmint at project kickoff or transition meetings.

Manage owner’s engineer and overall design engineering and RFI process.

Act as primary interface between EPC partners and internal development and technology teams.

Procurement

Evaluate and select key project engineering, procurement, and construction partners.

Lead or support major contract negotiations, including Exhibit drafting or review and approval.

Ensure schedule and quality are maintained on key project deliverables and equipment.

Project Controls

Prepare, update, and report on project budgets, schedules, and risk trackers.

Analyze and report on contractor-provided budgets and schedules.

Prepare forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.

Construction Management

Daily management of on-site owner’s representatives and owner’s project managers.

Act as primary interface between all project teams and Spearmint Energy.

Ensure projects are constructed safely. Then, they are also on-time and within budget.  

General

Support evolution of Spearmint Energy environmental, health, and safety programs.

Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key engineering and construction partners.

Travel: This role may require travel up to 50% of the time 




       Must-Haves:


Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Or equivalent work experience.

Five years of experience in project or construction management within the power industry.

Strong track record of fully closing out tasks and tangibly moving projects forward.

Ambition to grow and succeed with a fast-growing company in a nascent industry.

Willingness and confidence to create tools, processes and systems from scratch that will become company standards.

      Must have work authorization to work in the United States
