What You Will Do

The Junior Staff Accountant will partner with and assist our Controller to ensure efficient processes and accurate accounting information.  This is a new position that is being added to our team due to company growth. It is a great opportunity to show off your skills and make an immediate impact at a growing company.

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage key portions of the procure to pay cycle, including vendor management and onboarding, accounts payable management and employee expense reporting.
  • Lead data input accuracy for all accounts payable coding and upload supporting documentation in SAGE Intacct and other vendor related software.
  • Review payable billing to ensure compliance with contracts/agreements/proposals.
  • Manage corporate credit card and employee expense reimbursement; review supporting documentation, coding of expense report transactions, and compliance with approved budgets.
  • Coordinate with team members to maintain accuracy of cost codes, budgets, commitments, change orders, and code purchase orders and invoices accordingly.
  • Assist with reconciliations of accounts and subledgers, journal entries, prepare supporting schedules, analyze account balances, and research discrepancies in financial data.
  • Assist with month-end closing reports and support annual external audit information requests.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing accounting department communications and respond to inquiries as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve processes and provide feedback to other teams on ways to add efficiency and clarity to our accounting processes.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a business related or quantitative discipline.
  • 3 years or more of accounting experience with a focus on accounts payable or procure-to-pay cycles.
  • Detailed and deadline oriented.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word)
  • Ability to prioritize, adapt, and respond effectively in a dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A team player, with shared responsibilities and expectations.
Preferred additional skills:
  • Preference given to applicants with additional accounting related experience, education, or qualifications.
  • Real estate, construction, or renewable energy industry experience
  • Prior experience with SAGE Intacct
  • Prior project billing experience
 
Must have work authorization to work in the United States
